Successful W&H Innovation Day in Vietnam

With a global network spanning 130 countries around the world, continuous training and specialist exchange play a crucial role in the development and professional application of W&H medical devices. Regular courses and conventions familiarize partners and clients with technical innovations and new products. To this end, a W&H Innovation Day was recently held in Ho Chi Minh City with high-profile speakers commenting on the subject of infection control and introducing the latest topics to the audience.

Infection control is an extremely important condition in the development and protection of public health. Setting and adhering to strict infection control standards not only improves the safety of dental staff, but also helps patients feel secure and confident in the quality of care they receive. The W&H Innovation Day in Vietnam was dedicated to treatment and hygiene processes, handpiece handling and cleaning, and infection control measures.

Raising awareness for infection control

Participants were welcomed at the Hotel Rex in Ho Chi Minh City to a stimulating and varied program of interesting lectures and workshops. For instance, key opinion leader Dr. Ngo Dong Khanh, Vice President of the Infection Control Association Ho Chi Minh City and Vice President of the Vietnam Dental Association, engaged in an insightful talk on reprocessing infection control. Both on site and interactively, participants were also involved in the presentation of W&H sterilizers, reprocessing devices and their features. Yannick Devin and Alexis Lauria from the W&H Technical Support Team Italy as well as Zachery Wee, W&H Area Sales Manager South East Asia, imparted useful practical knowledge on the entire infection control process in dentistry.

Technical training and human encounter

Technical training was equally on the agenda as the informal exchange about the latest W&H product innovations, which were on display. As the pandemic poses a whole new set of challenges for the industry, COVID-19 was also a major topic of discussion. However, it was a great relief and inspiration for all attending that the Innovation Day could be held in physical presence with face-to-face discussions and presentations. Lecturers and participants agreed that effective sterilization and reprocessing of transmission instruments not only increases hygiene and safety, but also saves time and effort allowing dental staff to focus on what matters most: their patients.
