Training completed: W&H supports new talents

The medical technology company W&H has always placed a special emphasis on training and development opportunities for its employees. The W&H competence academy provides individual support for key employees for a year and assigns them mentors who guide them personally. The training program was successfully completed at the end of 2022 by 14 talented W&H colleagues.

People have Priority – it is this belief that motivates W&H to continue providing training for its employees on a daily basis. The W&H competence academy is one of the many training programs run by the company. Along with interpersonal and social skills, the new talents are taught about psychology, group dynamics and communication. “For us, motivated and qualified employees are the key to success. That’s why we attach great importance to comprehensive training and education opportunities. Our goal is to recognise potential and provide targeted support,” underlines Daniela Malata, member of W&H’s board.

Cooperation as a shared understanding

Cooperation is an integral part of W&H’s business and success strategy. In the company’s own competence academy, as well as the professional training element, there is also a lot of value placed on networking. Another feature of the training is that the talented young individuals are supported in word and deed by personal mentors. They pass on their experience and expertise in regular meetings. The training aims to give the graduates a comprehensive understanding of W&H.

Graduates from all areas of the company

From production, to product management through to controlling: The fourteen graduates of the W&H competence academy come from different areas of the company, but they all have one goal in common – to help ensure that cooperation is a success at W&H. “The key message of the training for me was: Talking brings people together – those who talk to each other bring up good results and create transparency,” says Bernhard Riedl, a young talent in W&H’s Industrial Engineering division.

Individual support for employees

As well as a comprehensive training and development program, and over 60 years of experience in training apprentices, above all W&H invests in individual and personal training and development opportunities for its employees. The W&H competence academy is therefore to be continued for a third time in April 2023.
